Coming soon …

I’ve not been blogging as much as I’d like due to commitments elsewhere but I’ve freed up a little time and thought I would let you know what is in the pipeline.

Christmas

A series of blogs around the festive season and how you should behave in the same manner as my pub etiquette guides, starting with the minefield that is the Christmas Party.

What I’ve been working on

An update on the writing workshop I ran as part of the Sleepout at The Stadium of Light in aid of Centrepoint,  my visit to the wonderful FabLab in Sunderland (you should all visit) and my cancelled visit to the Roker Lighthouse (featured in Leg It and Idle Threats). I’ll also mention a little about the Putting Southwick on The Map project that I’m quite excited about.

My novels

Counterbalance is complete and is out there looking for an agent. I am currently working on a follow up to Idle Threats, provisionally titled ‘Troll Life’ based on Darren and his search for work after his benefits are stopped. I’m at the advanced outline stage and am nearly ready to start hitting the word count targets again.

My ideas

Whilst I am about to embark on novel number four, I have a notebook full of ideas. I might throw a few out there and see if any capture the imagination.

A year in review

On Christmas Eve it will be a year since I gave up my full time job to concentrate on writing. I think it would be a good time to take stock, look at what I have achieved and where I go next.

Serialisation of Leg It

This is an idea that I have been toying with for a while. I haven’t worked out the logistics yet but I am thinking of releasing approximately 1,000 words a week. Giving your work away for free is always a big step but I’m going to see how it goes.

If there’s anything else you would like me to write about, feel free to comment and I’ll see what I can do.
