Troll Life – Coming Soon

Troll Life – Coming Soon

Whilst Life In The Balance only came out in June of last year, I started work on my fourth novel, Troll Life, long before that.

After what seems like a lifetime working on it, over 300 hours writing and editing and many more with the publishing process, it will finally be launched on Tuesday 16th October.

This is to coincide with my appearance at the Sunderland Libraries Literature Festival at Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens. (2.30pm Pottery Gallery).

Come along to hear me talk about my writing career and the work that went into creating Troll Life as well as the opportunity of being one of the first people to get their hands on a copy.

I’ve received my proof copy and after a couple of tweaks, it is ready to go.

The more eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed links to buy Troll Life on my website. This is due to my ‘soft launch’ policy where I ensure everything is in place and working prior to launch date rather than having a mass panic and trying to do everything in one day and making mistakes. I have learned through bitter experience that I am prone to making mistakes with book launches.

As you’ve taken the time to read my blog, if you click on one of the links, you can get ahead of the game and read Troll Life before its official launch.

As a little taster, here is the blurb that goes with it.

Could you change the habits of a lifetime when everything you have ever known is at risk?

When an internet troll is exposed, he is forced to come off benefits and seek employment in a call centre he has been trolling.

Turning his life around is not easy, especially when his past begins to catch up with him and he has to confront the one person he fears most.

Himself.

Troll Life is a comic tale of hopes and fears, revenge and redemption.

With the humorous style of Christopher Brookmyre and Carl Hiaasen, Alan Parkinson’s fourth novel explores the world of online trolling and the many frustrations of working in a call centre.

Office politics clash with one man’s struggle to leave his past behind and become a productive member of society.
